About us

Itsaso and Irune Elizagoien Bizente (Etxalar, 1995 and 1993), known as the Elizagoien sisters. Having as a reference to our cousin, since childhood we have a liking for trikitixa. Our parents trusted in the desire we had to learn to play this instrument, and for this reason, since the purchase of the first trikitixa, at 5 and 7 years old, respectively, we entered this world.

In 2002 we started with competitions (called "txapelketas"). We started in Etxalar, following different towns in Gipuzkoa and arriving to Bizkaia, getting 27 txapelas each of us, and ending this stage of our lives with the Zeanuri txapelketa in 2015.

In 2008 we created the group called Baleike, then changing the name to Dantzadi, and made up of a trikitixa, a tambourine, a bass and drums, we toured different squares over eight seasons.

At the end of 2015, Itsaso had the opportunity to collaborate with the Galician bagpiper Carlos Núñez. Together with him, she recorded the song for the movie "La Jota" by the film director Carlos Saura, and since then she is a member of the group.

In 2016 we had the opportunity to participate in the Geure Kolkotik record collection released by Euskal Herriko Trikitixa Elkartea (Association of trikitixas of the Basque Country) recording together with 4 other couples 3 pieces created by ourselves.

Today the Elizagoien sisters play as a duo in different towns and in all kinds of events: pilgrimages, cider houses, neighborhood parties, popular meals, carnivals, weddings, dinners with bertsolaris, etc. enjoying what we do and watching you dance.
